4.      Type “ren sethc.exe sethc_bak.exe” and hit “Enter”.

5.      Type “copy cmd.exe sethc.exe” and hit “Enter”.





Step 7: Close Command Prompt and then click “Restart”.

Step 8: Wait for the HP laptop to load Windows 7 login screen. Then hit “Shift” key five times.

Step 9: In the command window, type “net user” and hit “Enter”. All local user accounts will be shown under the net user command. To reset the administrator password, type “net user administrator 123456” and then press “Enter”.

Step 10:   Close the command window and restart the HP laptop. When login screen appears, select administrator and enter the password “123456” to unlock your HP laptop Windows 7.
